Celebrating the life of

Barbara H. Kimball

June 15, 1932 - March 24, 2026

Barbara H. Kimball

Barbara Howe Kimball, age 93, of Savannah, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Habersham Manor in Savannah.

Barbara was born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. Howe Sr. and the late Rita Considine Howe. She attended Catholic School in Rhode Island and received her nursing degree in 1950. In 1955, Barbara married the love of her life, Terry McIntosh Kimball of Garfield, Georgia. Barbara loved helping others, she had a successful career as a Registered Nurse. She was employed by Candler Hospital in the Emergency Room for many years. She also worked at Azalealand Nursing Home before retiring to help her husband with the family business in Savannah. Barbara also adored her grandchildren; she loved taking them on picnics and to the movies.

Barbara enjoyed travel with her husband, they visited Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland, just to name a few. She was an avid garage-saler, she and her "sidekick", Ann pulled out the ads from the Saturday newspaper early, charted their path, and hit the road. So excited to see what treasures they could find, nothing made her happier than finding a good bargain! Barbara was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. Her mother was an Irish immigrant, who came to the United Stats as a young woman. Saint Patrick's Day was her favorite day of the year, she always hosted a big party for her family and friends following the parade. Corned beef, cabbage and Irish soda bread were served, and a good time was had by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry M. Kimball; a son, Scott A. Kimball; and a brother, Leo Howe Jr.

Her family includes her son, Mike Kimball and his wife Connie of Savannah; her grandchildren, Ryan Kimball and his wife Rebecca, Taylor Kimball and his wife Emma, Catherine Kimball, Chris Powell, and Amber Powell all of Savannah; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Charlotte Kimball; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

GUEST BOOK

Praying for all of you. I know you will miss her.

- Nancy Kimball, Athens, Ga.

Mike and I were teenage friends. I also had the pleasure of getting to know his wife Connie as well back in the later 1970's - early 1980's. Miss Barbara was the last surviving mom from my childhood. She was a Wonderful Woman who cared deeply about those she came in contact with. She will be sorely missed, and warmly remembered! My love and condolences to the family!!
